Imagine a mother’s feelings. She thought she would never see pictures of her child, now 9 years old, taken when a baby. Ann Perry-Smith’s car had been broken into all that time ago and cameras and a roll of film had been stolen. But a woman named Helen Maslyk happened to stop on the side of a road near Victoria, British Columbia, to deal with a tyre issue. Seeing a roll of film in a ditch she thoughtfully got it developed and posted the pictures on Facebook hoping to find their owner.
It wasn’t long before Ann Perry-Smith came across them on the social networking site. She told CBC News, “My jaw just dropped. There’s a picture of my baby…” With just a little effort, someone had made a mother’s day feel great.
