Ethical parking control?

Want to do what you think is right despite what your boss tells you? Are you willing to risk losing your job for your principles? Traffic warden Hakim Berkani tried to issue parking tickets in London’s Kensington and Chelsea only as a last resort.

He was sacked for not complying with a secret quota system for issued tickets which allegedly was encouraging  wardens to adopt a predatory and in some cases dishonest approach.

Anyway he won his emplyment tribunal court hearing.  During his case, internal emails revealed wardens had to issue an ‘absolute minimum’ of 10 tickets daily — a policy the firm has continued to deny. Wardens who failed were disciplined.

The question remains should wardens issue tickets as ‘a last resort’?
