A Christmas storytelling performance for children by Sally Pomme Clayton, the Swedenborg Society’s new Artist in Residence.
Storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton brings to life a mysterious and magical Scandinavian wonder tale. Her vibrant performance takes the audience on a snowy journey, with a polar bear and a princess, trickery and trolls, frost and fire. The princess travels through ice and snow, and up a glass mountain to set the white bear free, but can she undo the terrible Troll Hag’s spell?
This special performance combines spoken word with unusual musical instruments and strange sounds that evoke other worlds and times. The story is suitable for children aged 6 and upwards – and their adults! It lasts 60 minutes.
Sally’s dynamic and energetic performances use body, gesture, voice and strange sounds to bring ancient tales to life. Her spellbinding stories engage the listener effortlessly, introducing children to the art of the spoken word – developing imagination, listening, and a sense of story structure.
Doors open at 1.30 pm for a 2.00 pm start. Refreshments will also be served.

Also the author of several children’s books, Sally co-founded The Company of Storytellers and has performed regularly for children at the British Museum and at the National Gallery. Sally’s artist residency is supported by Arts Council England. Admission is free but capacity is limited.
