Soul Awakening

Residential Weekend, Purley Chase Spiritual Centre Warwickshire, Friday 24 June 2011 – 19:00 to Sunday 26 June 2011 – 15:30

Everyday life can easily take up all of our focus and perhaps there is no space or time left for anything deeper – anything spiritual. This weekend focuses on ways in which we can choose to key into what comes via our higher self or soul – even in the rush and stress of daily life.

As we are all different, there are many ‘gateways’ to the soul. We will explore some of these through music, meditation, soul symbols, movement, soul collage etc. There will be a balance of talks, sharing and experiential activities in the programme.

We hope that this weekend will give a sense of being in a ‘place apart’ – time for reflection.

What we will offer you is a meld of Rita’s and Helen’s different approaches; Rita brings her interest in music, dance and healing and Helen, her experience and interest in symbols, spirituality and jungian psychology. Helen has recently written a course entitled ‘Nurturing the Soul’ which we will draw from, but in space of a weekend we will not be able to encompass all of it. The weekend will look at the dynamics of ego and soul, what concepts of soul we have, as well as opportunities to experience different ‘gateways’ to open up ourselves to what is transcendent and Divine.

Helen Brown is an experienced Jungian therapist, and likes to work with people in a creative, holistic way. She has the Swedenborgian church and works freelance, facilitating groups and workshops and is interested in promoting personal and spiritual growth.

Rita Russell has worked in education as a teacher. She is a semi-retired minister of the Swedenborgian church. She has hosted Spiritual Growth workshops for thirteen years. She brings her wide life-experience into this work and enjoys facilitating groups. She has three grown-up children and four grandchildren.
