A World Full of Millionaires

If everyone was a millionaire the world would grind to a halt.

Why tend the fields, to grow the crops, to feed the people, when I have all that money.

Why dig the coal, to light fire, to bake the bread, when I have all that money.

Why pick the cotton, to weave the cloth, to make the clothes, when I have all that money.

Why sheer the sheep, to provide the wool, to make the blankets, when I have all that money.

Why dig the wells, to provide the water, to quench the thirst, when I have all that money.

The list is endless, but it makes you think money is of no real value unless we all pull together, and use our gifts and talents to help one another. There is a lot to be said for the old barter system. We are all small cogs in a big wheel and as one cog grinds to a halt it disrupts the rest.

It was Jesus who said “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”
