Many people find that Swedenborg’s writings give them a wonderfully rational and understandable account of the Bible and Christian theology. Yet his writings also describe the great turning points in our spiritual development – the kind of experiences that radically change and transform one’s insight into the deeper nature of truth and our experiential relationship with the Divine within all life.
In this forum for doctrinal insights we shall explore how, in the biblical story of Jacob’s Ladder, where angels first ascend and then descend, it is the ladder’s top that images that amazing transformative ‘turning point’ that lies along the path of regeneration or spiritual growth. There will also be sessions for participants to raise and discuss doctrinal questions in general.
Who is it for? Anyone who has an interest in Swedenborg’s teachings, and in seeking and discussing deeper insights into truth.

He was Principal of the New Church College in Manchester for 14 years, and continues to be involved in educational work there. He has lectured and led workshops widely in the UK and Australia, and is the author of several books that re-express and develop Swedenborgian insights. His particular interest is in applying spiritual principles to personal growth.
